Walked into Shipaton. Ended up in the Showcase.
ComiCollector entered RevenueCat Shipaton 2026 and was chosen to be featured in the official Shipaton Showcase — pushing the new comic collection app into the spotlight surrounded by a global field of leading mobile products built and shipped by developers around the world.
Shipaton is not a small developer contest. RevenueCat describes it as “the world’s biggest mobile hackathon for people who actually ship.” The 2026 event attracted tens of thousands of participants and offered more than $740,000 in cash prizes, with more than $1 million in prizes overall.
For ComiCollector, entering Shipaton was a chance to put the app in front of a much broader mobile-development community and show what had already been built: a comic collection app designed to help collectors catalogue raw and graded comics, understand market evidence, track values and trends, create insurance-ready documentation, and manage more of the collecting workflow in one place.
The full Shipaton entry on Devpost goes deeper into the product and its technology — including ComiCollector’s use of React, TypeScript, Capacitor, Node.js, PostgreSQL, RevenueCat subscriptions, and AI-assisted market analysis.
A core principle behind ComiCollector is that AI can help interpret comic-market evidence, but it should not be treated as the source of truth.
From entry to Showcase
The Showcase gives ComiCollector a significant spotlight alongside other top Shipaton apps. It also identifies it as an official 2026 Shipaton entry available on iPhone, iPad, and Android. It also links directly to the App Store and Google Play and describes ComiCollector’s collection-management, valuation, market-insight, eBay and insurance-documentation features.
ComiCollector was not created as a one-off hackathon demo. The goal has always been to build a real product for comic collectors — one that can keep evolving as the collection, market data and tools around it become more sophisticated.
Being featured in the Showcase is significant external recognition for that work.
While we didn't win. We’ll take it because we're just getting started. Do you Collect?
